‘Autumn Evening’ Soviet Era Painting by Vyacheslav Andreevich Fedorov Dated 1975
Bright fall trees surround a small lake in this brilliant painting by Russian artist Vyacheslav Andreevich Fedorov (1918 – 1985). Swans float lazily in the reflective blue lake under a sparsely clouded sky. Fedorov was born in Ivanovo, Vosnesensk region. He studied at the Ivanovo Art College from 1934-39 and graduated with a Red Diploma. He then went on to study at the famous Repin Institute of Art. Primarily a landscape painter, he exhibited in numerous important art exhibitions including the “All Union Art Exhibition” in Moscow in 1955 and “Soviet Russia” in Moscow in 1960. He eventually returned to Ivanovo, but later established himself in Zhelnikha in the Kalinin region until his death in 1985. He was a Merited Member of the Union of Artists. Signed and dated lower left, two original exhibition labels verso. Framed in a gilt frame, overall dimensions are 27 1/8 inches tall by 34 7/8 inches wide. Image size is 18 1/2 inches by 26 1/4 inches.
